About Jennifer

My name is Jennifer and I'm a stay at home Mama with a three year old daughter. I moved to the Madison area in the summer of 2002 and I married my best friend in the spring of 2005. I have an obsession for organizing and purging almost on a daily basis. If you ask my husband he wouldn't say this is one of my strong suits, since he can rarely find anything that belongs to him after I've gone on one of my rampages.

Some of my healthier hobbies are practicing yoga, photography, attempting to grow most of my own vegetables (in season), and dabbling into some small DIY projects with help from my new best friend Pinterest.

I joined up with some of my closest friends to blog about my life as a stay at home Mama, life in Madison, and any other rambling things that come to mind. I hope you enjoy reading about us. We all love coffee and wine, so whenever the mood strikes grab a glass of your favorite vino, or a cup of your favorite jo and read about what the Mamas Gone Madison are doing.

One of my favorite hobbies is photography.  I love capturing memories of my family and friend’s families.  I am self taught and have enjoyed every second of it.  I try and take classes here and there and I read A LOT on-line.  It can be an expensive hobby, so I don’t own everything I would [...]

Before having kids you always hear about the “terrible twos”.  Well in our house we never really experienced them…honestly we didn’t.  In fact, as our daughter reached age two my husband and I thought how awesome that stage was and how grateful we were to have a child that was so fun, happy go lucky, [...]

“Mama, wanna play with me?”

Playroom

Being a Mom is by far the most rewarding thing in my life.  I’d like to think of myself as a good Mom.  I love on, nurture, snuggle, run errands with my daughter, take her to swimming, gymnastics, to friends’ houses to play and I make sure she is well fed and clothed.  But I [...]

Scoops Kids Salon Review

Now that the holidays are over, we are left to some how get through the rest of winter.  What better way then a spa day with your little one?  Back in November, Mamas Gone Madison were invited to attend a grand opening of a new kids spa, Scoops Kids Salon, in the Hilldale Mall.  Michelle [...]

December 14th, 2012 will forever be a day that marks one of America’s saddest days.  Most of us probably never heard of Sandy Hook Elementary school, but after the horrible tragedy that took place there, that school and community will always be part of our thoughts.  I for one have many moments throughout the day [...]

I have a little secret that not too many people know about…I watch QVC.  If you haven’t heard of it, it’s like the home shopping network.  I was first introduced to it when my husband and I were browsing through the channels one night and Rachel Ray was on their most popular segment, “In the [...]

To Ask or Not to Ask…Shoe Removable?

I am a self proclaimed germ-a-phob.  I fully admit that I carry hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes with me everywhere I go.  I wipe down carts at department and grocery stores.  I use to use those cart covers when my daughter was younger.  Now there are times I think I take it too seriously and [...]

Hello to our Readers! All of us Madison Mamas are still here!  After a really busy summer and getting little ones in school (some for the first time) we are ready to start blogging again.  With the holidays approaching, it couldn’t be a better time.  We are all getting ready to post about all things [...]

Remember This…Part Two of One

_DSC1496

A few months back when we were all blogging about our DIY projects I wrote about this vintage desk I inherited from my husband’s Grandma’s house.  It was all ready to be painted and waiting for some new hardware.  I FINALLY was able to get it finished last week.  I was really struggling with the [...]

A Little Slice of Heaven in Wisconsin

TheInn

This past weekend my husband and I took a mini vacation to Madeline Island.  It’s about 5.5 hours north of Madison with a population of only 220 year round residents.  I had never been there, but my husband grew up in Park Falls which is only a couple of hours away, so he had visited [...]
