Dear Readers –
We had blog posts planned today celebrating the Christmas Holiday, but instead of sharing that with you, we wanted to step away from the computer as a way to honor those whose lives were impacted by the events in Connecticut on Friday. As Jennifer wrote this weekend…
When your child starts their first day of school you beam with pride, but in your heart there is a quiet heaviness because this day reminds you they are getting older and they’re entering into a world where you can’t be with them at all times. Today all across the country, parents will kiss and hug their kids good bye as they send them off to school. It will feel different. Those hugs and kisses may linger a little longer than they usual do. We want to thank all the teachers and administrators who are with my daughter and everyone’s sons and daughters when us as parents cannot be. Thank you for protecting them and making them feel safe. Thank you for loving them so they know they can turn to you when they need to. Thank you for what you do.
May we find peace in this tragedy, may we take the time to hug those we love, and may you and your family remain safe during this holiday season.
