One of the first things I pinned on Pinterest were these dessert stands made from old glassware. I try and pin things that I know I can try and make and things that require few “ingredients”. When my husband’s Grandma passed away the family had to go through her house and decide who gets what. We were able to get our hands on some pretty great vintage things. I took a box of old glassware not knowing what I would do with it. It was a box of mixed matched things so I knew we probably wouldn’t be using them for their intended purpose. So when I found this idea on Pinterest I instantly thought of my box of old glassware.
All I needed was some frosted glass spray paint, some Epoxy glue, and two different colors of spray paint. I wasn’t sure why I needed the frosted spray paint, but after applying it, I think it helped with applying the actual color. So I glued the glasses to the plates and let them dry over night. Then I spray painted each with the frosted paint and let that dry for a few hours. I did this on a warm, sunny day so it didn’t take long for each coat to dry. Next I applied my color spray paint. It took about two coats for each stand, which is pretty typical when spray painting anything (so I’ve learned).
I chose some light colors that can be used during spring or summer parties. I think the hardest part of this project was choosing colors, but I’m the type of person who can’t ever really make a decision on things like this. I think my husband’s buyers remorse is starting to wear off on me! Overall I am pleased with how they turned out and I am excited to use them. I’m sure my husband’s Grandma would be happy to know we are putting her old things to good use in a new way.

They turned out great Jennifer!! Now I need to make some!
